Dismantling an ad fraud ring

Coordinated a cross-team effort with WhiteOps (now Human Security) that led to a law enforcement takedown of a sophisticated ad fraud operation. The ring was responsible for hundreds of millions of fraudulent impressions daily, targeting premium publishers and brand advertisers. My role was identifying the pattern, aligning internal and external stakeholders around a coordinated response, and building the monitoring infrastructure to verify the operation's effectiveness after it went dark.
This was the kind of work that doesn't show up in a product roadmap. It required balancing the speed of operational security against the rigor of evidence-gathering — and understanding that shipping something here meant real consequences for real adversaries.
Scaling programmatic audio monetization
Spotify / Megaphone · Ad Tech Platform
Led product for the programmatic advertising stack serving podcast publishers across Megaphone, Spotify's podcast hosting platform. Built the foundation for dynamic ad insertion at scale — working through the hard problems of audio-specific targeting, fill rate optimization, and the auction mechanics that differ meaningfully from display.
The job was mostly translation: helping publishers understand the programmatic ecosystem, helping engineers understand podcast-specific constraints, and helping advertisers understand why audio is structurally different from the channels they were used to. Good product work in ad tech is mostly about reducing the friction between parties who don't speak the same language.
